| Name: | Mary Carmichael | |||||||||
| Bio: | ![]() Full Name: Maria Johanna Carmichael, but people call her Mary. Date of Birth and/or Age: May 21, 1843, 24 years young Sexual Preference: heterosexual Ethnic Background: British Occupation: She is a Can Can dancer, her history will explain in detail how she became a Can Can Dancer. Family: Ian Carmichael (Father), Elisabeth Carmichael (mother), James Richard Carmichael (brother), all three died in a big fire. This will also be explained in her history. Current Residence: She is on her way to New Shelby, California, she is probably on one of the first stagecoaches into town. Appearance: Mary has big, almost innocent blue eyes, long blond curls and a nice curvy body. She dresses sexy while working but when she is not she tends to dress as conservative as many of the women in town. She knows she is pretty but she doesn't show it in the way she presents herself. Personality: Mary is a kind girl, she has lived through a lot in her not very long life and sometimes it shows. She sometimes seems a bit depressed, but usually that does not take very long. She can be a bit naive at times, which is odd for a girl in her profession, but that is mostly due to the fact that she is a dreamer. She loves to sing and dance, she adores animals and little children. She is terrified of fire, but with good reason (see her history). Special Skills/Weapons Used: She is a great dancer and a beautiful girl, I guess that could be considered weapons. Weaknesses: She loves horses but she is not a very good rider, she also has a tendency to get lost in new places. History: Mary was the first child of Ian and Liza Carmichael, she was born in London, England and very much loved by her parents. She and her younger brother, James, had a very loving first few years of their lives. Her parents were not rich but her father worked hard to make sure his family would not have to go without the necessary things to survive and live happily. Then disaster struck, Mary was almost 6 years old when their little house caught on fire. Her father saved her life and then ran back inside to safe her mother and 4 year old brother. He tried very hard but was not able to and lost his life in the process. Mary was alone, her elderly grandmother wanted but was physically not able to take care of a little girl, that is why her uncle John took her under his wing and to America. John Carmichael was a good man, a bit rough around the edges but he had a good heart. He went to America to go into business with a friend who moved there a year earlier, the saloon business. Of course a saloon is not really the place for a little girl but the can can dancers and bar girls loved having little Mary around, she was the perfect little living doll. She got spoiled rotten! The girls working at the saloon taught Mary all she knows now, the taught her to read and write a little and of course the taught her to dance. She was a born dancer and when she was old enough and after a lot of begging uncle John let her get on the stage. She was a hit and danced from that day on. Then she also was taught some of the other skills saloon girls have to make some extra money, but her uncle did not approve of that, she was after all his brother's little girl. Over time she kept thinking about her parents and brother a lot, she romanticised her childhood and the image of what a marriage should be like. Her parents in her mind were like the king and queen out of a fairytale and James the perfect brother. All she wanted was a marriage like she thought her parents had. Yes, she was and is waiting for Mr. Right to sweep her off her feet. Then, just a few months ago, disaster struck again. It was a normal night, like any other in the saloon, they had just finished dancing when two drunk cowboys got in a heated argument, the argument turned into a fistfight. John tried to break it up, he didn't notice that one of the men had his knife out already and got stabbed. Mary saw all this happen, she ran over but she was too late, her uncle died in her arms. There and then Mary decided to move on, her friends and her uncle's business partner asked her to stay but her mind was made up. She wanted a new start, somewhere nobody knew her. When asked where she would go she answered, without thinking "New Shelby, California". Why do you ask? Well, not real reason except she had heard some people talk about New Shelby, California a few days before. Her new start won't be very new, true it will be a new place and new people but that is it. She does not know any other way of supporting herself then through dancing. First thing when she arrives in New Shelby will be to check out the local saloon or brothel if they have a can can show and if they are hiring. | |||||||||
